Joy and Bryan Engagement shoot

Joy and Bryan met us out a few days ago and let us do their engagement photos. We had a blast! Since most flowers, leaves etc. aren't quite growing yet, we did a downtown theme, trying to find some neat spots for some back drops. I think they turned out pretty good.

Thank you two for letting us into your lives for a day! We look forward to seeing you at your wedding.

Great time at a college formal

For those of you who did not know, our main business for many years has been a mobile DJ company called Loudspeaker Entertainment. You can reach it by navigating to http://www.loudspeakerdj.net/, or even http://www.knoxweddingdj.com/

Anyways, we had a blast this last weekend. Invited back for the fourth year in a row, these guys really know how to party! We bring out all the bells and whistles! While most of our events are weddings, it is fun to host an event like this once and awhile.

They always amaze me with their crazy antics. This year, a guy asked me to play Christina Aguilera's old time hit "What a girl wants" I think I've NEVER played this at an event, EVER!Past experiences have taught me that if they ask for a crazy song, there is probably good reason. Well, about 25 guys had a crazy dance all choreographed. Acrobats and all. They did this great little move, where they held one guy up, spun him one direction, while everyone went the other way. Well this picture, taken on the fly doesn't do it justice!

We were able to get a few other pictures during the night.
A big thank you goes out to this group of fantastic guys and gals. We had a great time, and thank you for all the compliments!
Finally, get a load of this video. While I put zero work into the video, it is kind of neat to see how we set-up for an event like this. It's a 30 second video that covers a setup time of about 70 minutes!

A little walk with our new gear

Well, after waiting some time, we finally received the next biggest and baddest thing to come to Canon photography. The 5d Mark II. A full frame camera, boasting some of the best low light pictures any camera can take, and pair that with 1080p HD video! That's right, high definition video! Of course along with all this, comes an empty wallet!

We are still putting it thru it's paces, but did decide to go out and have a little fun with it. I was able to find an old steel train trestle. I got to say, I was walking up and down this thing, and it's of course pretty long. I kept having to look over my shoulder to make sure there wasn't a train coming. I kept trying to figure, "Okay, if I saw the train come around the corner, would that leave enough time to run off the bridge?" The last thing I wanted was to have to hide on the edge of it with an enormous train flying by. Luckily, That didn't happen. Would have cetainly made for some great pictures though!

Vacation in the SNOW!

Gosh, we just returned from a great trip! Every year we travel to Snowshoe WV in hopes of timing it perfectly with alot of snow. Well we did it again! It snowed every day, and we had great conditions the entire time we were there. We staying in a condo called Leatherbark, brought most of our meals along, and just had a great time!
On several occasions, just outside our condo, several deer would gather. They were obviously quite used to people. We just couldn't ignore the urge to feed them, (I know, don't feed the wildlife, at least they weren't bears!) so we tossed them a few apples. They loved them. We also tried to give them some lettuce, but they didn't care for that. Go figure. In an environment where everything is covered with snow, they shunned our leafy green stuff.
Well, we are back in town again. We have a few upcoming DJ events, and some photography again a little later.
Thanks for reading!

Beautiful wedding. Fun location!

Golly Gee! Been pretty busy lately, and haven't been doing a very good job with my post. I have been having a great time DJ'ing at several weddings, and had the pleasure of Photographing another.

Katie and Ethan were great, their wedding was beautiful, and we had a blast photographing them. I wish we had more time to do formal pictures, but we wanted to keep it quick! You know, so we could get to the party!

Another event we did was a wedding this last weekend at the "Hidden Valley Resort" in Pigeon Forge. This was the first time we had been there. What a neat little place to have a reception. It has the usual flare of a country cabin, but with a dab of sophistication. It was really great! Very warm, and fancy at the same time. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a great setting, for what seemed would be a great price!

Well I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Remember, we are offering reduced rates for photography for a very limited time! Now is your chance to get some great portraits!

Well, time flies by, and we have made it back in one piece from vacation to Bermuda. Everyone that has been trying to reach us, thank you for being patient while we took this much needed trip.

We had a great time! Took some neat pictures. One of our favorite places was the lighthouse. A real working lighthouse, built after a few shipwrecks on the island in 1844, it remains the first Cast Iron lighthouse built! What a view from the top!
We also spent alot of time at the beach. Since we rented scooters, we could travel to secluded beaches, far off the beated path. One such beech we ran into a small obstacle. While climbing over a hill on the way, I noticed I was standing next to some cardboard cut-outs, that had been shot up quit heavily. I looked to the right and there they were. A platoon of soldiers. I was standing right in the middle of a rifle range! I was quite interested until the reality hit. We went to a different beach!

On the second day, we lost a friend. Betsy we called her. That's right, our scooter with an amazing 29,000 miles on it, of which resided on an insland of about 20 square miles, took it's last breath. We took a picture of her as we waiting for the rescue party. She looks sad.

Well, that about does it for now. We have just gotten finished with some wedding DJ events, and have several more coming up in the next two months. Can;t wait until the future photography bookings come along. Don't forget, all customers that have hired us before this posting are eligable for a free engagement photo shoot! You can't beat that with a 10 foot pole!

Booms Day with a couple of pics!

Well Booms day came here in Knoxville. I was surprised to hear they are the largest Labor Day fireworks in the Nation! Well, we went early and found a perch that would give us some good shots. We had a blast, but man was it hot! Did I say Hot? I mean really Hot! Standing on a parking garage is no way to stay cool!
The fireworks started and we got some great shots!!

Labor Day marks the beginning of fall and cooler temperatures. We are really looking forward to this! No more sweating outside, and my wife telling me I stink! (I don't really stink, I just look like I do)
We are currently offering free engagement photo sessions for anyone interested. Give us a call to schedule an appointment, or better yet, just write service@tandjphotography.net
